Greetings Friends and Family of the King of Kings Skateboard Ministry.
This has been an incredible year so far, in many ways for this ministry. We have put skateboarder/evangelists in several countries, and most of America during 2009. This in spite of losing over 50% of our donations, damaged vehicles, illnesses and injuries, spiritual oppression, rising fuel costs, a tanking economy and personal sacrifices never seen before from members of this ministry.
Many of you know that we nearly lost our brother, Pro Skater Elijah Moore, who spent 10 days in the Critical Care Unit in Virginia. He was released yesterday after the doctors told us he would be there for another 30 days or so. We saw hundreds of brothers and sisters around the world pray together for his health and God heard those prayers and he was able to attend a KKSM Demo in his honor today in Virginia. Although Eli had to sit on the sidelines I was told he was grinning ear to ear watching his teammates throw down an awesome demo for him and his beautiful bride Joy, and many of the youth from that city who were in attendance made decisions for Christ.
We were in the process of sending Elijah out through the state of Florida for the months of October and November to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ and share the Burl Factor Video but that tour has now been put on hold until next year. Continue to pray for Elijah as his kidneys still are not working at this time. The KKSM Revolution Tour comes to a close Sunday with the last event in Virginia (3 full events this weekend alone) and then a very tired worn out team of skateboarders head home to AZ then to California. These soldiers have literally been on the road for over 2 months without a break, driving thousands of miles to do approximately 30 events in 2 months.
There has been much fruit with this tour and there have been many stories of salvation around the country as these warriors fought the the good fight out there traveling and evangelizing this generation, in spite of criticisms and judgemental attitudes from a few church leaders over their appearance, (even with the fruit they experienced in their church from the demos), and the law enforcement community who continued to stop and question them from state to state several times because of their profiles and appearance.
Some of the guys were also informed after paying deposits and rent that they would not have a place to come back to and their personal items were bagged up by their ex-landlord and thrown into storage while they were on the road serving the Lord doing the work of an evangelist. I had to drive to California and meet with the lady and pick up the guys belongings, God will deal with that situation but it was one more harassment for them to worry about while being away, not to mention that they have no promises of employment when they get back home, these guys dropped everything to go on this tour, like the Apostles did when Jesus told them to “follow Me”.
In spite of these situations they never once complained, let it consume them or discourage them or keep them from accomplishing their mission in each city, that which was to bring a clear message of salvation and the Good News of a risen Savior to a lost and dying generation. There have been literally thousands who have heard the Gospel message through the KKSM skateboarders around the world this year so far, and there has been tremendous fruit in this country with their ministry and the Revolution Tour.
Because of their hard work, loyalty, staying focussed on the mission, and their unselfish and positive attitude and (spending more than 60 days in a motorhome together, hahaha) , we would like to honor them with a hero’s welcome when they get back to Arizona and California. We want to send them to Disneyland for 2 days and have a party for them. We need your help in order to make this happen. The ministry does not have the ability to pull this off, but collectively if we all gave a few $$$$ we could do it.
Please contact me directly at 480-772-2999 or email me at rick@kksm.org if you would like to help us honor these guys who have served faithfully in this battle for the lives of this generation. One last thing, 3 weeks ago my daughter Elizabeth led a 16 year old girl to the Lord at the KKSM Warehouse in Chandler, where we have Bible studies every Friday and Saturday nights, this young lady has been coming each week now and spending time with our family. Well a few days ago this young girl led another teenage girl who was using Heroin intravenously and in a gay relationship, to the Lord and now this young girl wants freedom from her decisions and life style and wants to serve the living God.
God is moving through this ministry in so many ways it is crazy and we are looking for a few young women who would be willing to help out at the warehouse to counsel these girls as Dane and Lizzie and Miriam are the only ones right now to counsel these girls.
The enemy has come up against us in some crazy ways but we stand firm knowing that the battle is already won and the present powers of this world are no match for our God, amen? Please consider helping to get these guys to Disneyland next week, and thank you for your continued support and prayers.
