New Update on Elijah Moore!

September 18th, 2009 by kksmlizzie

The results for Elijah’s Cat Scan came back today with good news. There is nothing of concern to the medical team regarding the Pancreas or the Kidneys and they have detected some air in his stomach which has been responsible for some of the swelling in the abdomen.

Today all the skaters, Chris Weigele, Dave Voetberg, Casey Wells, Eggy, Eric O and Neckbeard were allowed into the ICU with Joy to anoint him with some oil and pray for him. The nurses were super cool to allow the whole team in and they gave them time to hang with Eli.

They also have decided to change his treatment up a little and begin to provide nourishment through the stomach slowly so as not to overwork the Pancreas. This is a fairly new course for the Doctors and had been discussed for several days by one of the docs that has done extensive research on the concept.

Joy sounded good tonight and remains encouraged by this latest news, especially the Cat Scan results and the fact that Elijah is somewhat stable. He still remains in a medically induced coma and the kidneys are still shut down but we are believing that he will come out of this stronger than when he went in.

Please continue to trust and believe with us that Elijah will be coming home soon and back in the swing of things in no time.

Daily Update on Elijah Moore! Keep on Praying!

September 16th, 2009 by kksmlizzie

Today Elijah went through dialysis and they were able to get almost 4 1/2 liters of fluid from him, which is very good news. Although the Kidneys are still not functioning there is hope they will soon.

Elijah also was given a Cat Scan today which the results were not available by the time the update was finished. Hopefully we will have the results from that sometime tomorrow giving us a better idea of the Pancreas and Kidneys overall condition.

The medical team attempted to reduce His sedation levels today but there was an increase in his Blood Pressure and Heart rate so that was discontinued.

Although Elijah is still in a coma and not responsive, Joy said she put her iPod and ear phones on him today and it appeared that he was enjoying the music and trying to move his lips. Joy was very encouraged today when I talked to her and very thankful for everyones concern and prayers for her and Elijah.

Thank you and please continue to pray for Elijah’s health and quick recovery and for Joy and her strength and peace.

Daily update for Elijah Moore Sept 15th

September 15th, 2009 by pappadizzle

Elijah remains in a medically induced coma in the ICU. He is still dealing with kidney failure and some other medical conditions.

The doctors have been working very hard to stabilize the Pancreas and deal with the kidneys as well. There has been a slight decrease in the swelling of the Pancreas but no action on the kidneys part. He will continue every other day with 3-4 hours of Dialysis until they begin to function properly. He has a slight fever that continues to come and go showing that he is fighting the infection also.

Today as we were laying hands on him and praying for him he made an attempt to open his eyes, this was encouraging to Joy and the rest of us.
Although Elijah is still very sick we are starting to see slight improvements in his enzyme levels, his blood test results and the inflamed Pancreas.

The Team on the road will be in Virginia with Joy until the end of the week, she also has 2 very good friends of KKSM that she is staying with near the hospital and they are helping her with all the day to day stuff. Elijah’s mother Pam is also there with her and the 2 of them are an awesome pair……….

Continue to pray for Elijah’s health and the protection of Joy and the family.

Peace †

Daily Update On Elijah Moore!

September 14th, 2009 by kksmlizzie

Monday September 14, 2009

Today we were able to be with Elijah most of the day. His Mom and sisters from Dallas are here with Joy and the KKSM Krew on tour diverted from Georgia last night to be here today.

Elijah is still in critical condition with no activity with his kidneys yet. He remains in an induced coma and is still on the respirator. They have started a central line on him and continue the dialysis 4 hours every other day. He went through the process today and his condition remains unchanged.

They have had to give him 8 times the amount of medication than they would normally to keep him sedated due to his strength and his will to beat this illness. In fact he sat up today and made an attempt to remove his breathing tube before the medical staff could stop him.

We are continuing to believe that his kidneys will start up again soon and that the inflammation in the Pancreas will subside. He is showing some signs of decreased swelling today which is a positive sign.

Thank you again and please continue to pray for Elijah and his health

ELIJAH MOORE UPDATE

September 13th, 2009 by pappadizzle

Sunday 09/13/2009

We have just returned from the hospital and a visit with Elijah. He went through another round of Dialysis last night and will continue every other day as his kidney’s are still in failure. He remains in a medically induced coma and has stabilized somewhat since the initial hospitalization. Elijah has a breathing tube in and is on a respirator to assist his breathing as the swollen Pancreas has diminished some of his lung capacity. Hopefully this will resolve itself quickly and allow him to be taken off the respirator soon. Elijah has some other medical issues that have surfaced due to the stress on his internal systems. The medical team is one of the best around and they are working on all the issues systematically to address every possible option available.

We met with the Doctor today and they are working around the clock to counter some of the complications Elijah has experienced. He is in the ICU under 24 hr care and is still in critical condition. He remains strong and the medical staff agree that his age and his physical condition are giving him a better chance to overcome the medical difficulties he has suffered.

To all of you who love and know Elijah and Joy we are asking that you continue to pray and intercede for Elijah, for his health and recovery and we would ask you pray for Joy, for strength and peace as she trusts God to restore her husband’s health. We also ask that you pray for the Doctors and their wisdom and skill.

Thank you for your love, concern and most of all your faith to pray and believe God will use this to His glory and that He will heal and strengthen Elijah quickly.

The KKSM Team.
